TRINITY SUNDAY – The divine dance
The biggest challenge in approaching a deeper understanding of the nature of God is being Western. Having a Western mind is really useful for science and computing + engineering.
It is really not all that helpful for God. It began with the Greeks who loved making distinctions and treating everything with a dualistic mindset.
ON/OFF. BLACK/WHITE. TALL/SHORT. EMPTY/FULL. LIGHT/DARK. LAND/OCEAN, NIGHT/DAY, MALE/FEMALE
Life doesn’t happen until we move beyond binary. Sunrise and sunset and their play of light and darkness. Coral reefs + mangroves. What beautiful spaces.
Trying to solve a 3D problem in 2D. Go beyond the limits of trying to solve the problem and embrace the mystery.
Character of God. Attributes: Wise, loving, strong, good
Personal: wisdom. Lover. Glory. Healer GOD + not GOD
Trinity is an invitation into community; an invitation into love; into the divine dance.
